The BODYLAND Collection is the first iteration of our relationship to Burkina Faso, and our way of articulating the landscape together with South Africa; through the respective communities of CABES and Philani, from whom the collection’s artisanal elements originate from. One of our most important epitaphs, ‘the hands that make’,  is expressed in its fullness through this collection. 

The name is inspired by Athi-Patra Ruga’s ‘BODYLAND’ residency, whose inimitable presence cultivates service to underpin the proliferation and access of the creative process. BODYLAND demonstrates this essence through the tailoring, artisanal hand-dying and use of fabrication born out of our commitment to harnessing the ingenuity of textiles makers from Khayelitsha to Ouagadougou.
